Danbury, Conn. — October 27, 2026 —  This past week, Danbury firefighters finished training on Quint 27, a new Pierce quint featuring a 107-foot aerial ladder and fire engine functions.

The department brought in Battalion Chief John DeMuro from the Yonkers Fire Department to assist with specialized training on rear-mounted aerial apparatus. DeMuro concentrated on correct setup and positioning, assisting Danbury members to get ready to operate the new equipment safely and efficiently.

Quint 27 should begin service soon. The system will integrate aerial missions and engine functions into the department’s available response assets.

Training featured search and rescue drills and live-fire exercises, letting crews practice operational skills and teamwork in demanding situations.
