Nedrow, N.Y. — October 21, 2026 — Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department, Onondaga Nation Fire Department, and Southwood Volunteer Fire Department personnel joined together for a large-area search training exercise at Tsha’ Thoñ’nhes on the Onondaga Nation.
The drill provided participants with a chance to practice search procedures and cooperation beyond department boundaries. The teams collaborated to practice a large-scale search needing multiple agencies, clear communication, and an organized method for finding people.
The Onondaga Nation was thanked by the participating departments for allowing them to use the facility for the exercise. Relatives of firefighters joined in, supporting the provision of authentic participants for the training exercise.
