— October 11, 2026 — The Nedrow Fire Department was sent at around 1 o'clock in the morning. A barn fire on Eager Road in the LaFayette Fire District's 3700 block was reported on Sunday.

Nedrow Engine 42 and Tanker 42 arrived on the scene. Engine 42’s crew worked to put out the fire and perform overhaul operations, while Tanker 42 established pond operations to support the water supply.

Firefighters conduct overhaul operations to inspect the affected area for hidden fire and remaining hot spots after the main body of fire has been knocked down. Setting up a water source from a pond is also crucial when hydrants are not easily accessible, especially in country regions.

The crew stayed on site until 3:59 a.m., They cleared the incident and returned to service.
