Nedrow, N.Y. — October 5, 2026 — The Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department, Onondaga Nation Fire Department and Southwood Volunteer Fire Department all joined in a joint search-and -rescue training exercise Monday evening at the Nation Dam near Nedrow.
The drill used all-terrain vehicles from Nedrow and Onondaga Nation to support simulated searches in the area. Teams spanning different departments were assembled so members could learn about one another's tools, processes, and what they can do.
Firefighters reacted to drill calls and looked for people with pretend injuries. After being found, simulated patients were evaluated and treated by EMTs and other attendees before being readied for transport.
