Coeymans, N.Y. — October 9 — Members of the Coeymans Fire Company #1 participated in a boat operations and water rescue training session organized by Carver Companies. This event brought together officers from the Town of Coeymans Police Department. The training was carried out by Capital Technical Rescue and Safety Consultants, who provided instruction on both shore-based rescue methods and emergency situations that occur in water.
During the training, participants utilized two boats provided by Carver Companies and manufactured by Whaly Boats USA.
These boats were used to practice various skills essential for effective water rescue operations.
Capital Technical Rescue specializes in offering training related to water rescue and boat handling, which helps emergency personnel gain the necessary skills to respond to incidents that take place on waterways.
The Hudson River played a significant role in this training. It is a key location for both commercial and recreational activities in the area. However, emergencies happening on the water can be complex for firefighters, police officers, and other emergency responders. Such situations require appropriate equipment, sound decision-making, and collaboration between different agencies.
The training allowed participants to enhance their rescue abilities and work with other emergency service providers from the surrounding area.
Carver Companies’ involvement highlighted the benefit of collaboration between local businesses and public safety organizations.
Whaly Boats are designed for use in professional settings, including rescue and emergency operations, making them adaptable to various mission requirements.
This training emphasized the necessity of ongoing practical training and partnerships between multiple agencies to better prepare for water emergencies along the Hudson River.
