Atlantic County Firefighters Complete Swiftwater Technician Training at Scudders Falls

Ewing, N.J. — September 14, 2026 — Firefighters from Hammonton and other Atlantic County departments spent the weekend participating in hands-on Swiftwater Technician training at Scudders Falls on the Delaware River. 


Four Hammonton firefighters Captain. Tim Kelly and First Lieutenant Joe Lizza from Company 2, along with Firefighter Dan Aguina of Company 2 and Firefighter Joseph Maimone of Company 1, took part in the two-day course, joined by nine other firefighters from various fire departments across Atlantic County. 


The course took place on Saturday and Sunday at Scudders Falls, a stretch of rapids on the Delaware River located between Ewing Township, New Jersey, and Lower Makefield Township, Pennsylvania. The site is renowned for its flowing water and serves as a venue for whitewater activities and rescue training.
