Medford, N.J. — September 28 — Union Fire Company #1 personnel responded around 6:59 p.m.on September 28 to an automatic fire alarm at a commercial warehouse located on Evesboro-Medford Road. The situation was later upgraded to a structure fire after a 911 caller reported smoke coming from the building.

Chief 2500 arrived and observed smoke coming from the structure. Engine 2511, which was the first unit on the scene, stretched a hose line into the building. Additional fire companies from Medford and mutual-aid departments arrived to assist with search, ventilation, and overhaul operations.

The incident took place at Laboratory Disposable Products, a commercial facility situated at 16 Evesboro-Medford Road.

Officials later confirmed that firefighters discovered heavy smoke inside the warehouse, but there was no active fire. The building’s fire suppression system had already activated before or during the initial response.

Because medical and laboratory chemicals were stored at the facility, specialized hazardous materials resources were also requested. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and Westampton HAZMAT teams helped assess and manage the chemical risks. Burlington County HAZMAT personnel were also present at the scene. Officials stated that the exposure was limited to the warehouse, with no threat to the surrounding area.
