Rob Sparks Remembered for a Lifetime of Service

DANSVILLE, NY — Rob Sparks, 58, passed away peacefully at Noyes Memorial Hospital on August 28, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Rob devoted much of his life to serving others. His emergency services career began with the Conesus Fire Department and continued with Livonia EMS and Livingston County EMS. After earning his paramedic certification in 2011, he joined Livingston County EMS and later became a full-time Shift Supervisor, a role he proudly held for the remainder of his career. Many throughout the emergency services community knew him by his former call number, “6262.”
Rob’s impact went far beyond responding to emergencies. He was a trusted leader, mentor, colleague, and friend who was always willing to share his knowledge, offer a listening ear, or simply be there when someone needed him. Throughout his career, he touched countless lives and helped guide the next generation of EMS professionals.
His dedication to his profession and community earned him numerous honors, including being named New York State Paramedic of the Year in 2021 and receiving the Livingston County Distinguished Service Award.
Despite his accomplishments, Rob remained humble. When asked about his service and recognition, he would simply say, “I am just a guy who does a thing.” To the many people who knew and loved him, however, he was so much more.
Above all, Rob was devoted to his family. He treasured time with his wife, children, and grandchildren and especially enjoyed traveling, cruises, concerts, and making memories together.
Even throughout his battle with cancer, Rob continued to serve his community, support his family, and be there for others. His strength, compassion, leadership, and dedication never wavered.
Rob leaves behind a legacy of service that will live on through his family, friends, colleagues, the EMS providers he mentored, and the countless people whose lives he touched.
As the Conesus Fire Department shared in remembering their former member: “We’ll take it from here.”
