Twin Mountain Crews Completed Firefighter Down Drill

Bethlehem, NH — September 21 — Twin Mountain Fire Rescue personnel recently participated in a monthly training session at the New Hampshire Fire Academy's training facility in Bethlehem. The session focused on improving their skills in hose advancement and firefighter rescue techniques.

Lieutenant Parks guided the team through various hose advancement exercises aimed at giving firefighters real-world experience in maneuvering attack lines through different building environments.

These drills involved simulated basement and high-rise fire scenarios, where crews had to collaborate and advance hose lines through difficult structural layouts.

The training also featured a mock firefighter-down exercise.

Members practiced identifying, relocating, and assisting a firefighter who became unable to continue during an emergency.Repeating these drills allowed teams to refine their communication, movement, and coordination during rescue missions.

The Raymond S. Burton Fire and EMS Training Facility in Bethlehem serves as a specialized training site for emergency responders in northern New Hampshire. The facility includes a burn building, a water supply cistern, classroom areas, and equipment storage spaces.

The New Hampshire Fire Academy places a strong emphasis on practical hose advancement training as a critical component of efficient fire suppression efforts.
