Belgrade Department Received New Rescue Vehicle

Belgrade, ME — September 14 — The Belgrade Fire & Rescue Association received a new rescue truck as part of the department's ongoing efforts to modernize its emergency response fleet.

The new vehicle was set to go through training for operators, installation of necessary equipment, and other necessary preparations before it could be put into active use.

The department planned to complete the required training over the next few weeks to ensure that operators were well-versed with the truck and its features.

This delivery came after a town initiative aimed at replacing the department's current rescue vehicle.

A bid document issued by the Town of Belgrade in 2026 requested a Ford F-550 cab and chassis for a fire rescue department utility vehicle, along with specifications for training, transportation, and delivery.

The town's 2025 comprehensive plan also noted that Rescue 6 was one of the department's vehicles scheduled for replacement.

At that time, Rescue 6 was a 2015 Ram 5500 used as an enclosed rescue truck.

Fire apparatus records later confirmed that Belgrade had received a light rescue unit built on a 2026 Ford F-550 chassis for Rescue 6 in September 2026.

The new truck was anticipated to equip the department with improved tools for rescue operations as it was prepared for emergency service.
