Guarding the Lake: Oswego and Onondaga First Responders Coordinate Marine Detail

Fire and law enforcement marine units provided on-water safety coverage during the annual Oneida Lake Chicken Wing Run. On September 19, Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department deployed Water Rescue 1 with a three-member crew to provide marine rescue and emergency medical standby during the event. Caughdenoy operated alongside marine resources from Brewerton, Constantia and South Bay fire departments, as well as the Onondaga and Oswego County sheriff’s offices. The multi-agency detail provided coverage as participating boats traveled across Oneida Lake. No incidents were reported during the operation.
