Browne and Grimes Begin Journey to Paramedic Certification

Two members of Bath Fire & Rescue have started paramedic school in order to enhance their emergency medical abilities and deliver more advanced care to community patients. 

On September 3, firefighters Browne and Grimes attended their first day of paramedic training. The department stated that the program will demand substantial classroom instruction, hands-on training, study, and clinical workwhile both firefighters maintain full-time employment. 

Bath Fire & Rescue already offers emergency medical services and claims its department is equipped to deliver care at the paramedic level. The department handles medical emergencies, as well as fires, hazardous-materials incidents, and other emergency situations.

The extra training will enable Browne and Grimes to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for providing paramedic-level care. Paramedics are able to deliver a wider array of emergency medical treatments prior to a patient arriving at a hospital. 

The department also gave credit to the Davenport Trust Fund for helping make the training possible. Based in Bath, this charitable foundation has been active since 1957 and is situated at 65 Front Street in Bath. Public records confirm the organization is a private foundation located in Bath, though I was unable to independently verify the exact amount or details of its contribution to the two firefighters’ paramedic training.
