On Friday morning in Lewiston, community members and first responders came together for a remembrance ceremony honoring the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
The ceremony, hosted by the Lewiston Fire Department at Central Fire Station, was open to the public. The event paid tribute to those who lost their lives and the first responders who worked at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash site in Pennsylvania. The Portland Press Herald scheduled the Lewiston ceremony from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. community memorial gathering.
