Durham Fire Community Remembers Roxie Dobson

Durham, Maine — September 15, 2026 — On Monday, members of the Durham community paused to honor Roxie Dobson on the second anniversary of her death.
Dobson was a long-serving member of the Durham fire service, holding roles as a dispatcher, support staff, and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. As stated by the Spirit of America Foundation, she served in the fire service for over 30 years and also volunteered with multiple organizations within the Durham community.
In 2026, Dobson was honored with a Spirit of America Foundation Award in recognition of her years of service. In March 2026, the Maine Legislature officially acknowledged the late Dobson as a recipient of the award from Durham.
