North Branch Firefighters Remembered the Lives Lost on 9/11

North Branch, N.J. — September 11 — The North Branch Volunteer Fire Company organized a remembrance event to honor the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The gathering united firefighters and members of the community to pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 individuals who perished and the emergency responders who bravely answered the call.

The event featured a wreath-laying at a piece of steel from Ground Zero that was displayed outside the fire station.

This memorial serves as a lasting tribute for firefighters and local residents to remember those who were lost and to honor the emergency personnel who acted that day.

According to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, 343 firefighters from the FDNY lost their lives during the attacks.

Additionally, other police officers, emergency medical services personnel, and emergency responders also made the ultimate sacrifice.

The North Branch Volunteer Fire Company is a fully volunteer organization that serves the North Branch area of Branchburg and parts of Bridgewater.

The department maintains a variety of equipment, including engines, a ladder truck, heavy rescue units, utility vehicles, and boats.Its members are trained in firefighting, technical rescue, and swiftwater rescue operations.

The fire company was founded in 1927 and has provided emergency services to the community for almost a century.

The September 11 remembrance ceremony upheld the tradition of the fire service to honor those who have fallen and to ensure their service remains an integral part of the community’s history.
