Hillsborough Station 37 Remembered Those Lost on September 11

Hillsborough, N.J. — September 11 — Hillsborough Township Station 37 Fire joined local fire service members and the community in honoring the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 attacks and paying tribute to the emergency service workers who responded that day.

The 25th anniversary of September 11 offered firefighters and other emergency personnel a chance to reflect on the dedication and sacrifice associated with that day.

Across the country, communities held remembrance events, with fire departments continuing their tradition of honoring those who did not come home.

Station 37 Fire, based at 375 Route 206 in Hillsborough, operates as an all-volunteer fire company serving Hillsborough Township and surrounding areas.

The department has provided fire suppression, rescue, and extrication services since 1947 and handles approximately 700 to 800 emergency calls each year.

The department collaborates with other Hillsborough fire companies during major incidents and maintains a variety of equipment, including engines, a tower ladder, heavy rescue units, and specialized rescue tools.

The September 11 remembrance focused on those who lost their lives, the responders who answered the call, and the ongoing significance of service within the emergency services community.
