Christian Forbes Completes Emergency Services Academy Training

Another step toward a career in emergency services was taken this month as a new volunteer fireman finished firefighting training.

On September 1, 2026, Christian Forbes, who joined Kingston Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 in March 2026, received his diploma from the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy in Hillsborough. On September 7, the department posted on social media to announce his graduation.

Forbes' response rate increased to 76% in June after averaging 52% during his first three months of membership, according to the department. His involvement in the company's emergency responses during his first few months as a member is reflected in the numbers.
