9/11 Was Remembered by Franklin Park Firefighters

FRANKLIN PARK, NJ — SEPTEMBER 11 — The Franklin Park Volunteer Fire Company – Station 31 observed September 11 by paying tribute to those who were lost in the terrorist attacks of 2001 and the emergency workers who stepped forward to help.
On that day, four hijacked airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.
A total of 2,977 people lost their lives, including firefighters, police officers, emergency medical staff, and other first responders.According to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, 343 firefighters from the FDNY, 37 officers from the Port Authority Police, and 23 officers from the NYPD were among those who perished.This was the largest loss of rescue workers in American history.
For firefighters and emergency responders, the anniversary reminded them of the value of training, teamwork, communication, and service during emergencies.
The attacks led to major changes in how emergency planning and response are handled throughout the country.
Station 31’s remembrance honored the individuals who served, those who were lost, and the families who were impacted.
Their service continues to be an important part of the fire service’s history.
