Country Hills Fire Company Members Completed Firefighter I Training

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — SEPTEMBER 1 — Country Hills Volunteer Fire Company honored Firefighters Shravan Naarayan and Shaun McMorrow for completing the New Jersey State Firefighter I course at the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy.


Naarayan and McMorrow spent over 200 hours in formal training as part of the program.

This training was in addition to their regular duties, which included responding to emergency calls, participating in department drills, and other preparations necessary to stay prepared for community incidents.


The Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy offers courses in firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, incident command, and rescue operations.

The academy's training facilities include a burn building, training tower, smokehouse, and areas for vehicle extrication and other hands-on activities.


The Firefighter I program requires a substantial time commitment from volunteer firefighters.

They balance classroom learning and practical exercises with their regular department responsibilities.To receive course completion certification, students must attend all sessions.


The graduation ceremony was a milestone in Naarayan and McMorrow’s ongoing service with Country Hills Volunteer Fire Company.
