Bound Brook Fire Department Honored Those Lost on 9/11

BOUND BROOK, NJ — SEPTEMBER 11 — The Bound Brook Fire Department honored the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, by reflecting on the lives of civilians and emergency workers who were lost during the attacks.The events resulted in the loss of 2,977 lives, including 343 Fire Department of New York members, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority Police Department officers.The National September 11 Memorial & Museum documented 441 first responders who perished at the sites affected by the attacks.Approximately 1,000 FDNY firefighters were at the World Trade Center, while over 2,000 police officers from the NYPD and Port Authority Police Department also arrived on the scene.

For firefighters and emergency medical services personnel, the anniversary reinforced the critical role emergency responders play during large-scale incidents.

At the time, responders entered the World Trade Center to assist civilians in escaping, offer medical care, and support ongoing rescue efforts.

Twenty-five years later, the Bound Brook Fire Department participated in nationwide observances to remember those who were lost and the services they provided.
