Basking Ridge Fire Co. Honored Those Lost on 9/11

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — SEPTEMBER 11 — Basking Ridge Fire Co.No.1 and EMS observed the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, by paying tribute to the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, service members, and civilians who lost their lives that day.
For those in the emergency services field, the anniversary served as a meaningful reminder of the dangers faced by first responders and the importance of effective teamwork during major emergencies.
According to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, 343 FDNY firefighters, 37 Port Authority police officers, and 23 NYPD officers were among those killed.In all, 441 first responders from over 30 different agencies lost their lives.
The attacks also prompted one of the largest rescue efforts in New York City's history, with nearly 1,000 firefighters and approximately 2,000 police officers responding to the World Trade Center site.
Twenty-five years later, Basking Ridge Fire Co.
continued to honor the individuals who served, those who were lost, and the ongoing duty carried by today’s emergency responders.
