Quinton Fire Company Mourned the Loss of Life Member Don Sheffield

QUINTON, NJ — AUGUST 24 — Quinton Fire Company expressed their sorrow over the death of life member Don Sheffield, who had given 56 years of service to the volunteer fire department.Sheffield officially retired from the company in 2019 after more than five decades of helping the Quinton community.
As stated in his obituary, Sheffield was a volunteer firefighter with Quinton Fire Company for 56 years.
He also contributed his time to Meals on Wheels and remained involved in community activities.He worked at Anchor Glass for 35 years before later retiring from Williams Auto Parts.
Throughout his time with the fire service, Sheffield was honored as the company’s Fireman of the Year in 2007.
His long and dedicated service exemplified the kind of commitment often shown by members who spent many years answering emergency calls, maintaining equipment, and supporting their fellow firefighters.
Quinton Fire Company remembered Sheffield as a respected life member whose contributions became an important part of the department’s history.
His family received many expressions of sympathy from the fire department and the local fire service community.
