HANCOCKS BRIDGE, NJ — SEPTEMBER 11 — Pennsville Fire & Rescue Company No.1 commemorated the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, by participating in a memorial service at Salem County Vo-Tech.
Ladder 5 from Pennsville Fire & Rescue joined Ladder 12 from Reliance Fire Company in a flag-raising ceremony that honored firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and civilians who lost their lives during the attacks.
Fire and EMS departments contributed vehicles and personnel to support the event, which aimed to remember those who were lost and the emergency responders who worked during the rescue and recovery efforts.
The anniversary was significant for the fire and EMS community.
Records indicate that 343 FDNY firefighters, along with law enforcement officers, EMS providers, and civilians, were killed in the attacks.
Salem County held a 25th-anniversary remembrance ceremony at its 9/11 Park of Remembrance in Woodstown, continuing the county's tradition of honoring those who were lost.
