Mannington Fire Company Remembered Those Lost on 9/11

MANNINGTON, NJ — SEPTEMBER 11 — Mannington Fire Company honored the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks by paying tribute to the emergency service members and civilians who lost their lives.The event served as a remembrance for the 343 FDNY firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and the thousands of civilians who perished that day.

For firefighters and EMS professionals, the anniversary highlighted the importance of mutual aid and collaboration between different agencies during large-scale emergencies.

Mannington Fire Company is part of Salem County’s emergency response system and works closely with neighboring agencies such as Elsinboro Fire & Ambulance Squad, Quinton Ambulance Corps, Alloway Township Ambulance Corps, and Lower Alloways Creek Fire & Rescue.These groups support each other through mutual-aid agreements and shared training programs.

In the aftermath of the attacks, New Jersey responders also traveled north to assist with rescue and recovery efforts.

Twenty-five years later, Mannington’s observance remained focused on those who served, those who were lost, and the ongoing duty of responders to preserve and remember their history.
