Centerton Fire Company Celebrated 60 Years of Service

ELMER, NJ — AUGUST 25 — Centerton Fire Company celebrated 60 years of service to both the Centerton and Pittsgrove communities. The company was established in August 1966 and has remained a fully volunteer-run organization serving Pittsgrove Township Fire District 3. It operated seven firefighting units from its station on Dealtown Road, providing protection over an area covering approximately 16 square miles. Members also responded to emergencies in neighboring fire districts within Salem and Cumberland counties as part of mutual aid efforts, thereby expanding the company’s reach beyond its immediate service area.
The 60th anniversary honored generations of volunteers who have answered emergency calls, participated in training, maintained equipment, supported public safety, and ensured the company was always prepared for any situation.
The community’s support through volunteering, donations, and encouragement has also been vital to the company’s success.
The milestone showcased six decades of dedication, teamwork, and commitment to service.
Centerton Fire Company expressed appreciation to all those who have contributed to its mission and helped shape its legacy.
