Inspiring the Next Generation: Ridgefield Park Truck 2 Joins Multi-Agency Junior Police Academy Demo

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ — Local first responders joined forces to provide hands-on educational demonstrations and introduce area youth to the multifaceted world of emergency services.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, members operating Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Department’s Truck 2 participated in a joint presentation for the combined Ridgefield Park Police Department (RPPD) and Little Ferry Police Department (LFPD) Junior Police Academy in Bergen County.

The event featured a comprehensive lineup of regional emergency response agencies, including the Little Ferry Fire Department, the Bergen County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps (RPVAC), local police departments, and the Bergen County SWAT team.

Firefighters and emergency personnel conducted detailed walkthroughs of frontline apparatus, highlighting specialized rescue tools, operational capabilities, and tactical equipment. Members explained the shared responsibilities, cross-jurisdictional mutual aid protocols, and everyday hazards encountered during structural fires, technical rescues, and high-risk emergencies.
