NOBLEBORO, ME — August 25 — Nobleboro Fire and Rescue introduced its new Utility 1 truck to its response fleet, adding a versatile vehicle to its equipment. This truck replaced an older mini-pumper at a cost that was roughly a quarter of the previous expense, offering a broader range of capabilities for local emergency operations.

The Utility 1 truck was equipped with 250 gallons of water stored in a forestry skid designed for use in vegetation fires, as well as medical equipment and various tools.

The skid could be removed during the winter months, allowing the truck to carry the department’s cold-water rescue gear instead.

The purchase came as a result of community backing for the department and its equipment needs.

Nobleboro Fire and Rescue serves the town and surrounding areas, and often provides assistance to neighboring departments through mutual aid agreements.

The department has consistently worked to modernize its fleet and equipment, including the recent addition of a new engine funded by both town and fire company resources.

The new Utility 1 truck provides firefighters with an additional flexible tool for handling a variety of emergency situations, including fires, medical incidents, and water rescues.
