Mike Trask Was Honored for 40 Years of Alna Fire Service

ALNA, ME — August 19 — The Lincoln County Chiefs Association honored former Alna Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Trask during a meeting in South Bristol.Trask was presented with a special award for his 32 years as fire chief and 40 years of active service with the Alna department.
Trask stepped down as chief in March 2026 after serving in the role since 1994.
Mike Averill, who had previously served as assistant chief, was elected to take over the position.This marked the first change in Alna’s fire chief role in 32 years.
Throughout his time in leadership, Trask oversaw the modernization of equipment, enhanced mutual-aid efforts with nearby agencies, and initiated a junior firefighter program.
He continued to be involved with the department even after leaving the chief’s position.
The award celebrated Trask’s extensive volunteer leadership and his dedication to Alna and the broader fire service community.
