Greenwich, NJ — Firefighters took advantage of favorable evening weather to sharpen core hydraulic skills and reinforce vital rural water supply operations.
On September 9, members of Greenwich Township Fire & Rescue gathered in Cumberland County for a practical, hands-on training evolution focused on engine drafting and master pump mechanics.
Crews set up hard suction lines to draw from static water sources, running through pump pressure calculations, vacuum seals, and discharge management to sustain reliable water flow. The evolutions provided valuable repetitions for engine operators and firefighters alike, ensuring seamless, uninterrupted water supply deployment on the fireground when municipal hydrants are not immediately accessible.
