Piscataway, NJ — Local firefighters are strengthening their inter-agency teamwork and refining critical fireground communication through a newly launched series of combined operational drills.

On the evening of September 2, members of the New Market Fire Department and the Arbor Hose Company gathered in Middlesex County to host the first installment of their joint "1/3 box" training initiative. The program is designed to build operational familiarity between the two neighboring districts, ensuring a seamless, coordinated response when high-stress structural alarms drop.

Crews walked through essential command and control procedures, zeroing in on clear radio etiquette, personnel accountability systems, and orderly apparatus staging to keep fireground traffic organized.
