St. George Fire & Rescue Marks Labor Day

In a letter to locals on Labor Day, St. George Fire & Rescue wished them a weekend full of fun, relaxation, and one of Maine's favorite customs: lobster stew.


The agency reminded the community that its emergency workers are ready 24/7 while urging citizens to enjoy the vacation.


St. George EMS offers mutual help to neighboring municipalities and emergency medical services to the municipality around-the-clock. Both full-time paramedics and per-diem providers work in the department.


About 3,000 people live in the Town of St. George, which is made up of the communities of Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde, and Spruce Head. During the summer, this number rises dramatically.
