Bondsville Fire Reflects on 25 Years Since 9/11

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the Bondsville Fire Department is urging the community to take a moment to remember those who lost their lives.

Residents were invited by the agency to spend five minutes thinking about the roughly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks and how the country fared in the days that followed September 11.

The anniversary is still a time for the fire service to honor the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives while responding to the attacks, as well as other first responders who gave their lives. The FDNY still pays tribute to its members and others who have since passed away from illnesses connected to the World Trade Center. The department added that the United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2026. Its message prompted people to consider the history of the country, the principles that unite communities, and the decisions people make when helping others.
