Warren Firefighters Completed Summer Training Series

Warren, VT — August 26 — Warren Volunteer Fire Department members finished their summer training series on Wednesday night with a mock structure fire exercise that combined the skills they had practiced in earlier drills.

The training scenario allowed firefighters to go through a simulated fireground operation, starting with water supply and interior attack, moving on to search and rescue tasks.

They also practiced Mayday procedures, rapid intervention team (RIT) operations, communication strategies, and scene support.

This exercise enabled firefighters to handle several tasks at once while working alongside other firefighters.

Such training scenarios help crews practice communication, command functions, equipment use, and operational procedures in a safe, controlled environment.

The department's training program supports its overall emergency response efforts in Warren and surrounding areas.

The department has logged more than 1,300 training hours in 2025, along with mutual-aid activities with neighboring departments.

The final training exercise served as a practical review of the skills that firefighters have developed throughout the summer.
