Bangor Fire Receives Grant for UTV Track Kit

August 14, 2026 — Bangor, Maine: Versant Power has awarded the Bangor Maine Central Fire Station a grant to buy a track kit for a utility task truck.

Versant Power's sponsorship program was used to authorize the $7,500 award. The department's financing proposal was previously accepted by Bangor municipal officials.

The UTV's track system will enable it to function in situations where its regular tires could struggle, such as thick snow, mud, and places with a lot of debris. In off-road situations, such as wildland fires, search and rescue missions, and reaching injured patients in places that are hard to access with conventional equipment, the department employs its UTVs. Members of Bangor Fire recently met with executives from Versant Power to collect the grant check and show off the truck.
