CAMDEN, ME — SEPTEMBER 8 — Firefighters from Camden, Maine Fire & Rescue participated in a joint training exercise with members of the Hope Fire Department, as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance fireground capabilities.

During the training, teams had the chance to collaborate using hose lines, emergency vehicles, and other equipment, while practicing essential tasks that might be needed during real emergencies.

These joint drills allowed firefighters to become acquainted with the procedures, equipment, and operational methods of neighboring departments, ensuring they are better prepared should a response be required.

Camden Fire & Rescue has consistently prioritized ongoing training and professional growth.

The town’s budget includes support for specialized training programs such as water rescue, confined-space operations, and vehicle extrication.

The Hope Fire Department has also maintained a regular schedule of monthly training and certification activities, as well as participating in mutual-aid responses.

Regional training has long been a key component of fire service preparedness in Knox County, with Camden and Hope crews previously engaging in hands-on equipment training sessions together.
