HYDE PARK, VT — August 11 — Members of the Hyde Park Town Fire Department participated in practical training on vehicle stabilization and extrication on August 11.The session covered methods that firefighters can apply when responding to vehicle collisions where people are trapped.

Firefighters carried out activities around a vehicle, practicing stabilization and extrication techniques.

The training involved positioning equipment and performing hands-on tasks near the vehicle, allowing firefighters to review procedures in a controlled environment.

All Metals Recycling supplied the vehicles used for the training.

The company runs a location in Hardwick at 2141 VT Route 15 and accepts cars and other scrap materials, making end-of-life vehicles available for recycling.

Vehicle extrication continues to be a key component of fire and rescue training.

In June 2026, a multi-agency training event in Hardwick also used vehicles donated by All Metals Recycling, with firefighters practicing extrication and rescue techniques.

The Hyde Park Town Fire Department is based at 212 Centerville Road, Hyde Park, Vermont 05655. The training helped improve the firefighters’ hands-on abilities, which can be applied during future motor-vehicle rescue operations.
