WINHALL, VT — August 10 — Firefighters conducted a propane drill in Winhall, with the Winhall Fire Department acting as the first responding agency for the training exercise. Members from the Manchester Fire Department also took part in the session.

The training was centered on emergency procedures related to propane and enabled firefighters to review the dangers linked to liquefied petroleum gas.

Propane-related incidents can involve gas leaks, fire exposure, vapor ignition, and hazards from containers, making such training essential for crews who might encounter these situations.

During the exercise, firefighters and other participants gathered outside the fire station. The drill also allowed firefighters to collaborate and become more familiar with handling propane emergencies in a controlled environment.

These joint drills helped personnel from nearby departments enhance their communication and coordination prior to any real emergency.
