Waterville Fire-Rescue Members Earned Maine EMS Awards

WATERVILLE, ME — August 27 — Waterville Fire-Rescue honored two individuals from its emergency medical services team during the Maine EMS Awards Ceremony held at the Maine State Capitol in Augusta on August 27.
Firefighter/Paramedic Daniel Mayotte was awarded the EMS Excellence Award for his dedication to emergency medical services.
He has been a part of Waterville Fire-Rescue since 2003 and also served as EMS Rescue Chief in Vassalboro.Maine EMS confirmed his inclusion as one of the 2026 Excellence Award recipients.
Michelle Skehan, an RN, was presented with the EMS Community Partner Award for her efforts in supporting EMS education and training.
Maine EMS recognized her as one of the 2026 Community Partner Award recipients.
The ceremony acknowledged the contributions made to patient care, education, system development, and EMS partnerships throughout the state.
It took place following the annual EMS memorial service at the State Capitol grounds.
Both awards highlight the department’s ongoing commitment to training, education, and the delivery of emergency medical services.
