WATERVILLE, ME — August 24 — Waterville Fire-Rescue B-Shift personnel participated in confined-space training on August 24, utilizing the shift to practice essential skills for technical rescue operations.

The practical exercise allowed firefighters to work with confined-space rescue equipment, entry techniques, patient packaging, and rope systems.

The training also strengthened communication and teamwork between members at the entry point and those assisting from outside the confined space.

Confined-space rescue continues to be a key specialized operation for the department.

City records show that the department offers various technical rescue services, including confined-space, trench, rope, high-angle, and low-angle rescues.The department maintains four shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.
