STAMFORD, VT — August 23 — Members of the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department completed a safety improvement on their department’s tanker and carried out pump training during an evening drill.

This training allowed firefighters to practice using the tanker while reviewing how to operate the pump and deliver water effectively.

The session enabled the team to become more familiar with the equipment and practice the skills necessary to set up and maintain a steady water supply during incidents.

Keeping the apparatus in good working condition has always been a key part of the department’s training.

Stamford’s town records previously noted maintenance and pump work on Tanker 4, including repairs following a failed pump prime test.The department also shared that they had carried out comprehensive training for members and instruction on emergency responses.

The drill on August 23 included both equipment maintenance and hands-on pump practice, allowing members to gain more experience with the tanker and its systems.
