Engine 10 Crew Honored for Courageous Cardiac Arrest Save

Bridgeport, CT - On 2nd September 2026 in the Fairfielf county, The Bridgeport Fire Department, in partnership with Bridgeport Hospital, proudly honored members of Engine 10 for their exceptional lifesaving efforts during a medical emergency on December 10, 2025.
Engine 10 was dispatched to a call involving a patient experiencing difficulty breathing. The situation quickly escalated into cardiac arrest, prompting the crew to take immediate action. Through rapid assessment, coordinated teamwork, and timely defibrillation, the firefighters successfully restored the patient’s pulse, achieving a return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
Following the emergency response, the patient was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where additional treatment was provided in the cardiac catheterization lab. Thanks to the swift actions of the first responders and the continued medical care, the patient ultimately made a full recovery.
Their professionalism, extensive training, composure under pressure, and decisive actions proved critical in giving the patient a second chance at life. The Bridgeport community proudly commends the Engine 10 crew for this outstanding cardiac arrest save and for their unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others.
