Rope Skills on Display: Ludlow Crews Bring Technical Rescue to Vermont Festival

Ludlow, VT - Ludlow Fire Rescue spent the day participating in the Best of Vermont Festival, using the opportunity to engage with the community while highlighting their technical rescue capabilities.


On August 22, 2026, in Windsor County, Vermont, members of Okemo Valley Technical Rescue conducted live demonstrations focused on rope rescue techniques developed through ongoing training and experience. Crews practiced and showcased controlled rope systems, equipment handling, and rescue methods used in challenging terrain operations.


Throughout the event, firefighters demonstrated key aspects of technical rescue work, giving attendees a closer look at the skills required for high-angle and rope-based emergencies. The demonstrations also served as valuable hands-on reinforcement for members, helping maintain proficiency while working in a public setting.
