Cabot, VT - Cabot Volunteer Fire Department participated in a Stop the Bleed training session hosted by the Plainfield Fire Department, bringing together multiple area responders for hands-on, life-saving instruction.

On August 17, 2026, in Washington County, Vermont, members from Cabot FD joined neighboring departments to complete an in-depth training focused on critical trauma care skills. The session was led by Matt Ward of the Vermont Department of Health, who provided practical instruction on bleeding control techniques that are essential in emergency situations.

Firefighters and EMS personnel worked through guided scenarios and practical demonstrations, gaining direct experience in the use of Stop the Bleed techniques and equipment. Each participant was also issued an individual Stop the Bleed kit to enhance preparedness for real-world incidents.

The training reinforced the importance of early intervention in trauma cases and highlighted the value of interdepartmental collaboration. Cabot FD extended appreciation to Plainfield Fire Department, Chris Jackson, Joe Aldsworth, and all instructors and participating agencies for making the training possible.
