Jay and Upper Jay Firefighters Conducted Joint Rescue Training

Members of the Jay Volunteer Fire Department and the Upper Jay Volunteer Fire Department carried out a combined training exercise on September 1.The session involved a simulated rescue operation where firefighters responded to a situation in which a person was trapped underneath a heavy log.
The training scenario was designed to mimic real-life incidents such as a tree falling on someone or logs rolling over a person.
During the exercise, firefighters practiced techniques related to stabilizing the area, gaining access to the trapped individual, and safely removing the obstruction.They also explored various methods for handling a round object that might move or shift during an operation.
Firefighters also trained with a HURST electric spreader, examining its usefulness in technical rescue situations.
HURST explains that its eDRAULIC rescue tools utilize electro-hydraulic technology, which generates hydraulic force without the need for conventional hydraulic hoses.
