WELLSVILLE, NY — September 1 — The Wellsville Fire Department completed its yearly pump testing at Station 2 on September 1.A third-party testing company carried out the certifications.

Wellsville 1, Wellsville 2, Wellsville 3, and Wellsville 7, which is the department's tanker, were all tested during the annual evaluation.

All four units passed the tests and remained certified for another year, as stated by the department.

This testing allowed the department to check how well the apparatus pumps are performing and ensure that the water-moving equipment continues to meet the operational needs of the department. Routine testing of equipment is essential for keeping the department ready, especially for engine and tanker units that rely on dependable pumps during firefighting and water supply operations.

The testing was conducted by US Fire Services, a company that provides fire departments with pump testing and other NFPA-compliant equipment testing services, such as hose, ground ladder, nozzle, appliance, and aerial testing.

Their testing teams work with fire departments across the country.

Allegany County’s emergency services directory confirmed the Wellsville Fire Department’s address as 40 South Main Street and listed Wellsville Fire among the county’s fire service agencies.

The successful testing of all four units enabled the department to keep using them for emergency response while meeting the annual equipment certification requirements. It also gave documented proof that the apparatus pumps had completed the required evaluation.
