Norfolk, MA - Norfolk Fire Department members have been actively training on the newly introduced Sapphire IV infusion pumps, which have been placed into service on department ambulances.

On August 26, 2026, personnel continued structured in-service training focused on building confidence and proficiency with the new equipment. The sessions emphasized accurate medication delivery, device programming, and safe operation during critical patient care scenarios in the prehospital environment.

These infusion pumps allow paramedics to administer medications with greater precision and consistency, especially important for patients requiring continuous cardiovascular or critical care support during transport. The system also supports long-duration infusions, improving treatment capability during extended transports.
