WEST SENECA, NY — September 2 — Union Fire Company, part of West Seneca Fire District 2, welcomed Erie County EMS for a training session aimed at familiarizing firefighters with emergency medical equipment, techniques for moving patients, and how fire and ambulance teams can work together effectively.

During the session, firefighters toured an Erie County EMS ambulance as county staff explained the layout and showed the various tools and gear inside.

The training covered the operation of a powered stretcher loading system and a powered stair chair, as well as identifying the equipment and supplies stored on the ambulance.

This opportunity allowed Union firefighters to gain hands-on experience with the types of equipment they might use when collaborating with county EMS during emergency responses.

Erie County’s ambulance program utilizes Stryker Power Load and Power-Pro devices, along with the Xpedition powered stair chair.

Union Fire Company is based at 1845 Union Road and offers fire, EMS, rescue, and mutual-aid services in the West Seneca area.

Conducting joint drills helps emergency personnel become more proficient and better prepared to work together during real-life incidents.
