SILVER CREEK, NY — According to a monthly incident report provided by the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department, members of the Bay Creek Fire District responded to 84 events in July.

With 54 calls, or 68.2% of the monthly total, EMS calls made up the majority of the district's activity.

Twenty more events, or 23.5%, were fire and service calls. Additionally, crews responded to five fire alarm calls and five auto accidents, making up 5.9% of the total.

In 2026, the Silver Creek and Sunset Bay fire departments merged to become the Bay Creek Fire District, which started conducting joint operations. Parts of the Town of Hanover, such as Sunset Bay and Silver Creek, are served by the district.
