NEW YORK, NY — August 23, 2026 — The 9/11 Memorial & Museum hosted a special preview of a new exhibition on the legacy of service after the September 11, 2001 attacks on Sunday, which brought together members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).

"In Their Honor: 25 Years of 9/11-Inspired Service" is an exhibition that looks at how people and communities turned their grief into acts of service in response to the attacks. Inspired by the events of September 11, the exhibition showcases 25 years of public service.

Prior to its public opening in September, the exhibition was only accessible to the FDNY community on August 23. The museum, situated at 180 Greenwich Street in New York City, will host a special FDNY preview from 9 to 11 a.m., according to the Uniformed Firefighters Association.
