HOMER, NY — August 9, 2026 — As the annual National Brockway Truck Show concluded its weekend of events in Homer, members of the Homer Fire Department joined Brockway aficionados and locals on Sunday.

The department expressed gratitude to Chief Pitman, the Homer Police Department, the Brockway Truck Preservation Association, and the CNY Living History Center for their contributions during the occasion. Additionally, firefighters expressed gratitude to the locals who came to support the department's yearly chicken BBQ.

The department announced on August 9 that 500 chicken halves were sold by firefighters at the event. Additionally, the department reported encountering guests from outside the region, such as those from Florida and Kentucky.

The National Brockway Truck Show is centered around the CNY Living History Center and the Village of Homer. The 2026 event was scheduled for August 6-9, with the main truck show taking place in Homer. The event features historic Brockway trucks, a parade and other activities for truck enthusiasts.

The CNY Living History Center, located at 4386 U.S. Route 11 in Cortland, is home to the Brockway Truck Museum along with collections covering local and military history, agriculture and first-responder history.

The Brockway Truck Show has a strong connection to Homer. The annual parade and truck show bring the historic vehicles into the village, where trucks are displayed and visitors gather for food, vendors and other activities. The Cortland County Convention and Visitors Bureau lists the National Brockway Truck Show as an annual Homer event.
